In bilingual we have told a story with images (that you can listen to) for Halloween, that takes place in a haunted house and each class has developed its own house, with common elements such as the magic book, the candle and a welcome message.
It’s Halloween night.
Liam and Mia are dressed in their scary costumes. They are ready for ‘trick or treating’.
Liam is dressed as a zombie and Mia is dressed as Wednesday Addams.
As they walk around they see a big house on a hill. It looks haunted.
«Let’s go there,» says Liam.
The wind is cold, and there are many strange sounds.
Mia holds Liam’s hand.
«Are there ghosts?,» she says.
Liam and Mia walk up to the haunted house. The night is dark, and the wind is cold. They can hear ghosts, but Liam and Mia aren’t afraid. They want to explore.
They knock on the big front door. It opens with a creak.
‘Trick or treat?’ says Liam, but no one answers.
«Let’s go in,» Mia whispers.
Inside, the room is dark, except for a candle. Shadows dance on the walls.
«This is strange,» says Liam.
Suddenly, they hear a scream.
«Did you hear that?» asks Mia.
They see a book on the floor. It looks old. «This must be a magic book,» says Liam.
Suddenly, there is a laugh, but no one is there. The room becomes very quiet.
They go up the stairs slowly. Each step makes a noise. When they reach the top, a door is open.
They look inside and see a bed. On the bed, there is a note.
It says, «Welcome, friends.»
Mia smiles. «It’s a prank!» she says.
Their friends jump from behind the door.
«Happy Halloween!» their friends shout.
They all laugh together.
The house isn’t haunted at all. It’s just a fun Halloween night.
